Prescription Request Service

You may have heard about our prescription request service, so we thought it was time to explain exactly what it is and how it can help you.

If your order contains prescription items (POM-V’s), or items being used “off licence”, we require a written prescription from your vet before we can despatch any orders.

You supply us with your veterinary practice details when you register, and Farmacy can then contact your vet for a prescription every time you order! Our prescription request service can save you time and a trip to the practice!

For those of you who prefer to request prescriptions yourself, once your order is placed a prescription template that includes all POM-V products you have ordered is generated. You can download this from your account or click the link in the order confirmation email to print a copy to pass to your vet to complete.

Your vet does not have to use this template, but they must ensure that they include all information as described by the British Veterinary Association (BVA).

Once we receive the prescription, we must have it checked by one of our vets before we can despatch your order. If anything is incorrect or missing, we can also contact your vet directly on your behalf to make these amendments.

The most commonly incorrect or missing information is correct dosing and withdrawal periods, and this is where your order can sometimes be delayed as we cannot despatch an order until we have a correctly completed prescription.

We contact vets daily to ensure that outstanding prescriptions or amended prescriptions are completed and returned to us in a timely manner to ensure that your order can be dispatched as quickly as possible.

If you already have a prescription from your vet you can scan and email it to us at office@farmacy.co.uk, or you can upload it to the order in My Account.

Step 1: Simply login to your account and click on My Orders in the left hand menu

Step 2: Click View Details for the order you want to upload the prescription to.

Step 3: The order will expand to show a section where you can upload the prescription from your files.

We receive a notification once you have uploaded the prescription, so there is nothing more for you to do

If you don’t already take advantage of our prescription request service give us a call so we can add a note to your account and make sure we have correct vet details. The let us take the strain!
