Product Description
Domestic poultry wormer effective against gapeworm, large roundworm, caecal worm, hairworm, and gizzard worm in chickens, turkeys, and geese. Activity includes adult worms, larvae and eggs.
Flubenvet 60g pots are not POM-VPS medicines per se, but rather medicated premixtures (POM-VPS medicines mixed with other feed materials).
Schedule 5 of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations restricts the supply of medicated premixtures to the manufacturer of the product or a Category 8 Distributor of medicated feeds/premixtures.
They may only supply such medicated premixtures to an approved manufacturer of final medicated feed or another Category 8 Distributor.
However, there is an exemption under Schedule 5 of the Regulations which permits a veterinary surgeon, pharmacist or a livestock/avian SQP to sell a medicated premixture from registered/approved premises, provided that:
- the vet, pharmacist or SQP treats the premixture as if it was a POM-VPS medicines - i.e. POM-VPS storage, prescribing, supply and record-keeping requirements apply;
- the premixtures are only supplied to domestic keepers of poultry i.e. a person who keeps poultry on domestic premises, for feeding on those premises, non-food producing birds, or birds kept purely for private domestic consumption. If meat or eggs are sold by the poultry keeper, even farm gate sales, then the exemption does not apply, and the user of the premixture must be an approved manufacturer of medicated feedingstuffs.

Dosage & Administration
- Medicated feed should be fed for 7 consecutive days.
- Incorporate the required amount of the product into the daily feed ration.
- The daily ration should be fed as a "complete ration" during the 7 day treatment period - ie only feed birds with feed which has been medicated with Flubenvet
At the inclusion rates in the table below, for chicken and geese the ration will contain 30 ppm flubendazole and for turkeys 20 ppm.

Chicken and Geese
60 g of product (the whole tub) medicates 20 kg of feed
30 g of product medicates 10 kg of feed
6 g of product medicates 2 kg of feed
Turkeys
60 g of product (the whole tub) medicates 30 kg of feed
18 g of product medicates 9 kg of feed
6 g of product medicates 3 kg of feed
A level measure of the scoop included = 6 g of wormer.
Use the scoop to measure the correct amount of product to mix into the feed as per the table above.
The dosage is dependent on the amount of feed that each bird consumes over the 7-day treatment period.
Larger birds eat more feed and receive more medication according to their weight.
Mixing advice
- The volume of product to be mixed into the feed is small.
- Mix very well for even distribution.
- Initially, mix the required volume of Flubenvet into a cup of feed. Mix very well.
- Add this to a bowl of feed and mix very well.
- Repeat twice more, every time into a larger volume of food until the total volume of medicated feed has been produced. Mix well.
Treatment frequency
- Birds on the ground with known worm infestations are susceptible to re-infestation. In such cases, re-treatment with another 7-day course, after 3 weeks is recommended.
Withdrawals
Meat
- Birds must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
- Treated birds may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 7 days from the last treatment; the meat withdrawal time is 7 days.
Eggs
- There is no withholding period for chickens producing eggs for human consumption when the product is used at the recommended inclusion rate; the egg withdrawal time is zero days.
