Product Description
For vaccination of sows and gilts to reduce infection and clinical signs of atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica and Pasteurella multocida in their progeny.
Protection has been demonstrated in the progeny of sows and gilts vaccinated during pregnancy.
Dosage & Administration
Sows at any age or weight and gilts from an age of 18 weeks:
- 2 ml by deep intramuscular injection behind the ear.
- Gilts and sows, which have not been vaccinated with the vaccine before should be given a primary, followed 6 weeks by later by a second vaccination.
- No further vaccination is needed for a period of 3 months after the second vaccination.
- Sows should then be revaccinated once for each subsequent pregnancy, with the interval between vaccination and farrowing not exceeding 150 days.
- Where possible, these vaccinations should take place 2-6 weeks before farrowing, but to minimise handling, e.g. in outdoor units and loose housed sow accommodation, sows may be vaccinated at weaning, service or pregnancy testing.
- Pigs newly introduced into the farm, not previously vaccinated, should be given the basic vaccination immediately.
- Maximum benefit from vaccination with this product will not be obtained unless appropriate attention is paid to animal management, housing conditions and ventilation.
- Veterinary advice should be sought prior to the start of a vaccination programme.
A good immune response is reliant on the reaction of an immunogenic agent and fully competent immune system. Immunogenicity of the vaccine antigen will be reduced by poor storage or inappropriate administration. Immunocompetence of the animal may be compromised by a variety of factors including poor health, nutritional status, genetic factors, concurrent drug therapy and stress.
This product contains mineral oil. Accidental injection/self-injection may result in severe pain and swelling, particularly if injected into a joint or finger, and in rare cases could result in the loss of the affected finger if prompt medical attention is not given. If you are accidentally injected with this product, seek prompt medical advice, even if only a very small amount is injected and take the package leaflet with you. If pain persists for more than 12 hours after medical examination, seek medical advice again.

In the unlikely event that you receive faulty or damaged goods please call 01306 628215 within 72 hours of receipt of your goods. Please have your order reference to hand. You will be asked to provide evidence of the damaged goods if damaged in transit.
