Vaccination prior to turnout is a key aspect of a holistic prevention approach to lungworm control (used in conjunction with grazing management and selective anthelmintic use) and is the most predictable method of building herd immunity against lungworm.1
Unfortunately, due to a manufacturing delay outside of our control, the first batch of Bovilis Huskvac will be available a few weeks later than normal. We anticipate the first batch will be available to order on or around the 12/02/22 (this batch will have an expiry of 05/04/22).
We know that this slight delay to the start of the vaccination season will impact some early vaccinating farms, so we wanted to inform you soon as possible. Bovilis Huskvac supply beyond this first batch will not be impacted.
MSD have provided a leaflet - MANAGING LUNGWORM DURING PERIODS OF LIMITED VACCINE AVAILABILITY - for further guidance if you would normally be looking to vaccinate early.- 1st January 2022
